Druid Debuts: Flicker

Thursday 17 June at 7.30pm

Two documentary filmmakers interview the survivors of events that occurred in Dublin in 1994 which resulted in the deaths of several people and accusations of child witchcraft. Each survivor has their own story to tell.

Flicker by Róisín Coyle is presented as part of our annual Druid Debuts, a series of online rehearsed readings of new plays, selected from almost 300 submissions.

This year's Druid Debuts will be streamed live on Zoom.

Please note that Flicker features infrequent use of strong language.

There are two other Druid Debuts this year: And Other Hellish Things by Shane Burke and Håber Undone by Catherine Cronin.

Each summer, the selected playwrights are provided with professional support, a director, cast and space in which to develop their script to a rehearsed reading level. After the reading, audience feedback is invited as a means of further development.

Previous Druid Debuts have subsequently become full Druid productions including Furniture by Sonya Kelly, Shelter by Cristín Kehoe, Helen and I by Meadhbh McHugh, Be Infants in Evil by Brian Martin and My Brilliant Divorce by Geraldine Aron.
