Join the Druid Team: Head of Development

Druid seeks a Head of Development to join our busy team. We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to lead our development and fundraising functions and to help realise Druid’s vision of Irish performance for the world.

Purpose

  • Alongside the Executive Director, devise and implement an effective development strategy to help Druid achieve its artistic ambitions
  • Manage key relationships with current supporters and strategic partners
  • Identify, cultivate and secure new supporters and strategic partners
  • Work effectively amongst the small and busy Druid team to ensure the company’s values and ambitions are met at all times


Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience working to tight deadlines
  • Should enjoy working as part of a small but highly focused team
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Experience of managing key stakeholder relationships
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team


Key tasks and responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the overall fundraising function within Druid
  • Manage existing and develop new multi-annual strategic partners
  • Develop and implement plans and strategies to grow individual giving to Druid
  • Develop and implement plans to identify and convert new business supporters
  • In conjunction with the Druid board, identify and develop relationships with Major Donor prospects and supporters
  • Support the further development of the International Friends of Druid
  • Manage the benefits programme for all Friends, Sponsors and Patrons
  • Meet agreed KPIs in terms of: supporter and partner income; development and conversion of prospect lists; and any other agreed targets and goals
  • Act as key point of contact for Friends, Business Sponsors, Major Donors and other key personnel
  • Work in close collaboration with all other departments in achieving goals and targets, ensuring all activities fit in with overall strategy and plans
  • Represent Druid at events as required

  • Flair and creativity to devise effective fundraising strategies
  • Strong research skills, presentation skills, and excellent writing skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Highly organised, able to work in a busy work environment, and an effective communicator
  • Excellent time and project management skills, be motivated, energetic and results driven
  • Strong people management skills, a positive attitude and exemplary team skills
  • Strong knowledge of and passion for theatre and the arts in Galway, and Ireland
