DruidShakespeare: RIII Returns to the Rehearsal Room
Rehearsals for DruidShakespeare: Richard III kick-off tomorrow in Dublin, ahead of its international premiere at Lincoln Center's White Light Festival, New York from 7-23 November.
Directed by Garry Hynes, the production premiered in at the Town Hall Theatre, Galway last September beofre a month-long run at the Abbey Theatre, Dublin. It won three Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards for Best Production, Best Set Design and Best Costume Design earlier this year.
Following a very successful run with Waiting for Godot at last year's White Light Festival, Druid is very excited to be returning for the 2019 festival.
DruidShakespeare: Richard III continues our exploration of Shakespeare's kings and re-unites the acclaimed creative team and members of the Druid Ensemble who worked on DruidShakespeare: Richard II, Henry IV (Pts. 1&2) and Henry V, in 2015. Shakespeare gives us one of the great villains in Richard III, in a chilling and darkly comic story of power and ambition.
